• High‑strength structural steel plate meeting the chemical and mechanical intent of SA572 Grade 42 (290 MPa / 42 ksi minimum yield for specified thickness ranges). Designed for welded bridge construction and other structural applications where strength and formability are required.

• Typical product forms and dimensions:

  • Shapes: plate, sheet, bar, angles and structural sections
  • Thickness: hot‑rolled plate (coil thickness ≤ 25 mm when supplied from coil); plates available in thicker gauges up to 380 mm as noted in specification
  • Width: 1,220 – 4,200 mm
  • Length: 5,000 – 18,000 mm

• Key features and application notes:

  • Minimum yield strength: 290 MPa (42 ksi) for applicable thicknesses
  • Commonly used for welded bridge components, building frames, heavy equipment and other structural fabrications
  • Notch toughness (impact) requirements can be specified/negotiated between purchaser and supplier depending on service conditions and temperature requirements
  • When material is produced from coil and furnished without heat treatment (or with only stress relieving), additional testing and reporting requirements of ASTM A6/A6M may apply
