Molybdenum-alloy steel plates supplied to ASTM A204 / ASME SA204, suitable for welded boilers and other pressure-vessel components. These plates are engineered for elevated-temperature service where improved high-temperature strength and good weldability are required.
Key features
- Conforms to ASTM A204 / ASME SA204 for molybdenum-alloy boiler steels
- Grades: A (commonly supplied); Grade B availability should be confirmed with supplier
- Typical supply conditions: normalized or rolled
- Material benefits: enhanced high-temperature strength, good weldability, oxidation resistance in service, and long in-service life
Standard sizes and supply forms
- Thickness: 3 – 150 mm (note: coil thickness ≤ 25 mm)
- Width: 1,220 – 4,200 mm
- Length: 5,000 – 18,000 mm
- Supplied as plates or coils (subject to thickness limits)
Typical applications
- Welded boilers and pressure vessels
- Components exposed to elevated temperatures and pressure where molybdenum-alloy steels are specified
Ordering and quality
Plates are offered in common mill conditions (normalized/rolled) and can be supplied in standard rectangle plates or coils within the limits above. For commercial orders, confirm required grade (A or B), heat-treatment condition, dimensional tolerances, surface finish and any test documentation (mill test certificates, chemical and mechanical test reports).
