High-strength API 5L X80 steel plates and sheets engineered for line-pipe manufacture in oil & gas and high-pressure pipeline applications. These plates meet the mechanical and toughness requirements of API 5L X80 and are suitable for use in PSL1 and PSL2 linepipe production (PSL2 deliveries intended for pipe manufacture must meet the stricter acceptance criteria for repairs and quality). X80 is a microalloyed, weldable steel grade offering elevated yield strength and good toughness for demanding service conditions.

Notes on manufacture and selection
- Plates intended for PSL2 pipe manufacture are expected to meet stricter surface and repair limitations — confirm allowable repairs and inspection requirements with purchaser and mill prior to production.
- When used for helical-seam pipe, width-to-diameter and forming limits should be checked with the pipe mill; provide required outside diameter and seam type so plate width can be confirmed.
- Chemical composition and exact mechanical properties are supplied per API 5L X80 specification; confirm required chemistry limits (C, Mn, P, S, Nb/V/Ti sum, etc.) when issuing an RFQ.
Supply and documentation
- Available for bulk supply to pipeline, EPC and fabricator customers. Typical commercial supply includes mill test documentation referencing the applicable API 5L X80 standard; additional third-party inspection or NDT can be arranged per contract.
For quotations: provide required grade (PSL1 or PSL2), thickness, width, length, quantity, intended pipe manufacturing method (longitudinal or helical), and any special inspection or certification requirements.
