High-strength hot-rolled shipbuilding plate engineered for structural and marine applications. KR Grade EH36 is a normalized or thermomechanically controlled (TMCP) high-strength steel specified for ship hulls, cranes and other heavy marine structures where a combination of high yield strength, good toughness and weldability is required.
Key features
- Mechanical properties: tensile strength 440–590 MPa; minimum yield strength 315 MPa; elongation (8 in / 200 mm) ≥ 19%; elongation (2 in / 50 mm) ≥ 22%.
- Heat treatment options: as-rolled / control-rolled / TMCP / normalized to meet project specifications.
- Corrosion resistance, good toughness at typical marine service temperatures and proven welding and fabrication performance.
- Classification / equivalence: supplied to Korean Register (KR) Grade EH36 requirements; comparable to ABS EH36 and commonly used in the scope of ASTM A131 shipbuilding steels.
Available supply dimensions
- Thickness: 3 mm to 280 mm
- Width: 1,200 mm to 4,200 mm
- Length: 3,000 mm to 18,000 mm
Typical applications
- Ship hull and deck structures
- Shipboard cranes and heavy lifting equipment
- Offshore platforms and marine structural components
Commercial notes
- Supplied as hot-rolled plates, with material test certificates available on request. Heat treatment and rolling route (TMCP or normalized) can be specified at order to meet required toughness and strength targets. For RFQ include required thickness, dimensions, quantity, delivery terms and any inspection/certification requirements.
