High-strength, weldable fine-grain structural steel supplied to EN 10025-4 (material number 1.8834). S355ML is a thermo‑mechanically rolled (TMCP) structural grade designed for heavily loaded welded constructions that require good toughness at low temperatures and reliable weldability.
Key features
- Supplied in TMCP condition for improved toughness and strength consistency
- Fine-grain, low‑alloy structural steel suitable for heavy welded fabrications
- Good weldability and formability for typical structural processes
- Design service temperature down to -50°C (longitudinal impact energy warranty: 27 J)
- Note: subsequent heating above 580°C for TMCP products leads to reduced strength
Available forms and standard dimensions
- Forms: plates, sheets and bars
- Thickness range: 5 mm – 150 mm
- Width: 1,500 mm – 4,200 mm
- Length: 3,000 mm – 18,000 mm
Typical applications
- Bridges and other civil engineering structures
- Flood gates and water-retaining structures
- Storage and transport containers, tanks
- Load-bearing and welded structural components
- Pressure and pipeline components where welded construction and low-temperature toughness are required
Quality and compliance
- Manufactured and tested to EN 10025-4 (S355ML / 1.8834)
- Supplied with standard EN test documentation on request (mill certificates and impact test results as applicable)
Supply options and processing
- Available cut-to-length, sawn, shot-blasted or with further processing on request
- Supplied in full plates or nested to buyer length/width requirements
For engineering procurement, specify EN 10025-4 S355ML (1.8834), required thickness/size, required delivery condition (TMCP) and any certification or testing documentation needed.
