KR Grade FH36 Shipbuilding Steel Plates

High-strength FH36 shipbuilding steel plate produced to KR (Korean Register) FH36 grade. This hot-rolled, high-toughness plate is formulated with increased nickel and nitrogen and controlled low phosphorus and sulfur to improve weather resistance, toughness and weldability for marine applications.

Key features

• Composition and performance: higher Ni and N content with restricted P and S to enhance corrosion resistance and fracture toughness in maritime environments.
• Mechanical properties (typical KR FH36 range): tensile strength 440–590 MPa; minimum yield strength 315 MPa; elongation (200 mm gauge) ≥ 19%; elongation (50 mm gauge) ≥ 22%.
• Rolling and heat treatment options: as-rolled, control-rolled, TMCP (thermo-mechanical control processing), or normalized — normalized rolling often used to optimize toughness for heavy sections.
• Dimensions (standard supply range): thickness 3–280 mm; width 1,200–4,200 mm; length 3,000–18,000 mm. Custom sizes available on request.
• Fabrication properties: designed for good weldability and formability for typical shipbuilding fabrication (hull plating, decks, bulkheads, structural members); exhibits high strength and improved corrosion resistance for maritime service.
• Classification and certification: material can be supplied with inspection and certification by major classification societies (ABS, LR, GL, BV, DNV, KR, NK, CCS, RINA) and with mill/test certificates on request.

Supply notes

• Plate is supplied hot-rolled (HR) and can be delivered with requested heat treatment and inspection documentation. For quotations, technical inquiries and certification options, provide required dimensions, thickness, heat-treatment preference and quantity so the supplier can issue an accurate RFQ and supply mill test certificates (MTC).
