Product Overview

Product description

JIS G3125 SPA-H is an atmospheric corrosion-resistant (weathering) steel sheet designed for long-term outdoor exposure. The material forms a protective brown oxide patina in service that reduces further corrosion and lowers painting and maintenance requirements compared with ordinary carbon steels.

Key features

  • Conforms to JIS G3125 requirements for SPA-H (weathering) steel.
  • Natural formation of a protective oxide layer for improved atmospheric corrosion resistance.
  • High strength: yield and tensile properties suitable for structural and load-bearing applications.

Typical mechanical properties (per grade ranges)

  • Yield strength: approximately 345–355 MPa (minimum)
  • Tensile strength: approximately 480–490 MPa (minimum)
  • Elongation: typically 15–22%

Available product forms

  • Plates, sheets and strips
  • Structural shapes (on request)

Delivery and processing conditions

  • Hot rolled, cold rolled
  • Normalized, quenched & tempered
  • Thermal Mechanical Control Process (TMCP)

Typical applications

  • Bridges, guardrails and highway structures
  • Building façades and architectural cladding
  • Outdoor containers, silos and storage tanks
  • Other exposed structural components where reduced maintenance is desired

Buyer notes

  • Specify JIS G3125 SPA-H and required delivery condition (e.g., hot-rolled, TMCP) when requesting a quotation.
  • Confirm required dimensions, tolerances, surface condition (as-rolled or pickled), quantity and any testing/inspection requirements (mechanical tests, chemical analysis, coating if required).
  • Available sizes, surface treatments and certification options can be provided on request; send RFQ with required specifications to receive current pricing and lead times.
