JIS G3125 SPA-H is an atmospheric corrosion-resistant (weathering) steel sheet designed for long-term outdoor exposure. The material forms a protective brown oxide patina in service that reduces further corrosion and lowers painting and maintenance requirements compared with ordinary carbon steels.
Key features
- Conforms to JIS G3125 requirements for SPA-H (weathering) steel.
- Natural formation of a protective oxide layer for improved atmospheric corrosion resistance.
- High strength: yield and tensile properties suitable for structural and load-bearing applications.
Typical mechanical properties (per grade ranges)
- Yield strength: approximately 345–355 MPa (minimum)
- Tensile strength: approximately 480–490 MPa (minimum)
- Elongation: typically 15–22%
Available product forms
- Plates, sheets and strips
- Structural shapes (on request)
Delivery and processing conditions
- Hot rolled, cold rolled
- Normalized, quenched & tempered
- Thermal Mechanical Control Process (TMCP)
Typical applications
- Bridges, guardrails and highway structures
- Building façades and architectural cladding
- Outdoor containers, silos and storage tanks
- Other exposed structural components where reduced maintenance is desired
Buyer notes
- Specify JIS G3125 SPA-H and required delivery condition (e.g., hot-rolled, TMCP) when requesting a quotation.
- Confirm required dimensions, tolerances, surface condition (as-rolled or pickled), quantity and any testing/inspection requirements (mechanical tests, chemical analysis, coating if required).
- Available sizes, surface treatments and certification options can be provided on request; send RFQ with required specifications to receive current pricing and lead times.
