High-strength hot-rolled ASTM A36 seamless carbon steel pipe suitable for structural and general construction use. Manufactured by hot rolling, these seamless pipes deliver ductility and reliable performance for building, fabrication and industrial applications where A36 carbon steel is specified.

Key features

  • Material standard: ASTM A36 carbon steel (hot rolled)
  • Minimum yield strength: 36 ksi (36,000 psi)
  • Manufacturing: hot-rolled seamless construction for improved ductility
  • Surface condition: rough finish typical of hot rolling; available surface treatments to your requirements
  • Available coatings: bare, black painted, galvanized, oiled (or customer-specified finishes)
  • End preparations: plain (plain ended), beveled, or as requested

Sizes and schedules

  • Seamless pipe nominal bore range: 1/2" NB up to 60" NB
  • ERW pipe range: 1/2" NB up to 24" NB
  • LSAW pipe range: 16" NB up to 100" NB
  • Wall thickness / schedules available: SCH10, SCH20, SCH40, SCH80, SCH160, SCHXXS
  • Length: from 3 m up to 18 m (custom lengths on request)

Quality control and testing

  • Chemical composition analysis to verify A36 chemistry
  • Mechanical testing: tensile strength, yield strength, elongation
  • Technical/physical tests: flattening test, bending test, hardness test, blow test, impact test (where required)
  • Non-destructive and pressure testing: exterior size inspection, hydrostatic test (standard up to 20.7 MPa / 3000 psi), X-ray where required

Applications

  • Structural steelwork (columns, beams, supports)
  • General construction and fabrication
  • Piping where A36 carbon steel properties are acceptable
  • Manufacture of equipment, frames, and other constructional components

Supply and ordering

  • Small-quantity orders accepted; no strict minimum quantity in many cases
  • Custom end preparations, surface treatments, lengths and testing packages available to meet project requirements
  • Specify required schedule, length, end preparation and testing when requesting a quotation (RFQ)

If you need specific certification documents, mill test reports (MTR), or bespoke testing/inspection, include those requirements with your RFQ so they can be confirmed in the quotation.
