High-strength, low-alloy structural steel plates produced to the ASTM A572 specification. Available in grades A572 Gr42, Gr50, Gr55, Gr60 and Gr65 to meet a range of strength and fabrication requirements for structural, civil and heavy-equipment applications.

• Grades available: A572 Gr42, Gr50, Gr55, Gr60, Gr65. Typical minimum yield strengths: Gr42 ≈ 42 ksi (~290 MPa), Gr50 ≈ 50 ksi (~345 MPa), Gr55 ≈ 55 ksi (~380 MPa), Gr60 ≈ 60 ksi (~415 MPa), Gr65 ≈ 65 ksi (~450 MPa).
• Plate rolling types: structural steel plate / low-alloy steel plate.
• Manufacture: semi-killed or killed steel melting practice.

Fabrication and applications

• Designed for riveting, bolting and welding. Grades Gr42, Gr50 and Gr55 are commonly used for general structural members; higher grades (Gr60, Gr65) are suitable for bridge components and heavy-duty bolted or riveted structures.
• Typical end-uses: building and bridge construction, structural beams and plates, heavy machinery frames, and other load-bearing structural components.
