2B Finish ASTM 410 Stainless Steel Sheet

A commercial-grade stainless steel sheet supplied with a 2B (bright cold-rolled) surface finish, produced to meet the ASTM Type 410 specification. This grade is used where strength and moderate corrosion resistance are required together with a smooth, attractive surface.

Fabrication and welding notes

• Welding ASTM 410 will typically produce martensite in the heat-affected zone because of the grade’s composition; as-welded properties may therefore be brittle in some conditions.
• For critical applications, a post-weld heat treatment (commonly in the range of about 750–800°C) is recommended to restore ductility and improve corrosion resistance in the welded area.
• Good shop-practice (clean surfaces, proper filler selection, and controlled cooling) improves weld quality and final performance.

Corrosion performance and maintenance

• Provides reliable resistance to common indoor atmospheres and to domestic liquids such as detergents and soaps.
• In more aggressive or coastal environments, choose a smoother finish and institute regular cleaning to prevent staining.

Supply options

• Available as flat sheets in customer lengths; finishing, cut-to-size, edge trimming, and protective film options can be supplied per order.
