A continuous wet-granulation unit designed for large-scale compound fertilizer production. The rotating cylindrical drum agglomerates powdered fertilizer material into uniform pellets by combining controlled moisture (water or steam) with tumbling action. Under the proper liquid-phase conditions and drum rotation, particles are repeatedly compacted and rolled into spherical granules.

Key features

  • Process: wet granulation (cold or hot) for high-, medium- and low-concentration compound fertilizers
  • Capacity: 3–8 t/h (continuous operation)
  • Principle: adjustable addition of water/steam and tumbling motion to promote particle adhesion and pellet growth
  • Typical components: rotating drum, inlet/outlet ports, spray or steam humidification system, internal lifters or flights for particle turnover, drive and support frame

Benefits

  • Produces uniform, high-density pellets with good mechanical strength and reduced fines
  • Suitable for both cold- and hot-granulation processes, allowing flexibility in raw materials and formulations
  • Continuous operation supports integration into medium- to large-scale fertilizer production lines
  • Adjustable process parameters (drum speed, moisture input, residence time) to control granule size and quality
  • Minimizes dust and improves downstream handling, drying and coating efficiency

Applications

  • Central piece of a compound fertilizer production line (NPK and other blended fertilizers)
  • Can be paired with mixers, dryers, coolers, screening and coating equipment for a complete production system
  • Suitable for chemical and agricultural fertilizer manufacturers seeking stable pellet quality and scalable throughput

Typical specification (example)

  • Production capacity: 3–8 tonnes per hour
  • Granulation method: wet (water or steam)
  • Operating mode: continuous

For planning and integration, confirm required drum diameter/length, motor power, heating/steam system and material feed rates with the equipment supplier to match your production targets and raw-material characteristics.
