Weathering (Corten A) hot‑rolled steel plate engineered for long-term atmospheric exposure where both corrosion resistance and an attractive oxidised finish are required. The material contains added phosphorus and other alloying elements that promote the formation of a stable, protective rust layer that reduces the need for painting and long‑term maintenance.

Key features

  • Designed for atmospheric corrosion resistance and aesthetic patination
  • Suitable for forming, welding and heavy fabrication when using appropriate procedures
  • Available surface/supply conditions: As‑rolled, Normalized rolling, Simulated Post‑Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) or custom treatments per customer specification
  • Typical advantages: durability, toughness, uniform construction and good structural strength

Typical applications

  • Architectural façades, cladding and landscaping elements
  • Bridges, towers and structural components exposed to weather
  • Industrial stacks, gas flues and outdoor installations where a weathered finish is acceptable or desired
  • Sculptures and decorative metalwork

Standard equivalence

  • European equivalent grade: S355J0WP (EN 10025‑5) — refer to project specification or purchase order for required standard certification and mill test reports.

Available dimensions (typical range)

  • Width: 1,000 mm to 4,500 mm
  • Thickness: 5 mm to 150 mm
  • Length: 3,000 mm to 18,000 mm
