Seamless and welded 16Mo3 alloy-steel pipes manufactured to EN 10216-2 for high-temperature pressure applications. 16Mo3 is a chromium–molybdenum (Cr–Mo) alloy steel grade formulated for elevated-temperature service and is widely used in refineries, steam lines, power plants and other pressure systems where improved creep and temperature resistance are required.

Key features

  • Standard: EN 10216-2 (seamless alloy steel tubes for pressure purposes)
  • Material: 16Mo3 (Cr–Mo alloy steel) suitable for elevated-temperature service
  • Heat treatment: Normalized at approximately 890–950 °C then cooled in ambient (per EN 10216-2 requirements)
  • Typical ASTM/ASME equivalent: ASTM A335 / ASME SA335 Grade P1 (commonly referenced equivalent for high-temperature Cr–Mo tubes)

Available sizes and formats

  • Outside diameter: commonly offered from 1/2" up to 24" (specify exact OD required when enquiring)
  • Wall thickness: commonly from Sch 5S up to Sch XXS (specify required schedule or exact mm thickness)
  • Delivery forms: seamless and welded tubes (options depend on project requirements and availability)
  • Lengths, end preparations and threadings can be supplied to order—please specify in RFQ

Typical applications

  • Steam lines and superheater/reheater tubing in power plants
  • High-temperature piping in oil & gas refineries and petrochemical plants
  • Pressure vessels and boiler components where elevated-temperature strength is required

Quality, testing and documentation

  • Manufactured to EN 10216-2 dimensional and mechanical requirements
  • Can be supplied with standard mill test documentation and inspection reports on request (specify certificate level and tests required when ordering)

Ordering guidance

Provide the following in your RFQ for a prompt, accurate offer: required standard (EN 10216-2), pipe grade (16Mo3), outer diameter, wall thickness (or schedule), length, quantity, desired heat treatment/inspection certificates and any special end finish or testing requirements. Lead times and pricing depend on size, quantity and certification scope.

If you need help selecting the correct size or specifying inspection/testing requirements for high-temperature service, include your operating temperature and pressure in the RFQ so the recommended material and heat treatment can be confirmed.
