EN 10025-5 S355K2W is a structural weathering steel (atmospheric corrosion-resistant grade) engineered for outdoor and exposed applications where improved rust patina and reduced maintenance are required. It is offered in plate form and can be supplied as sheets, flats, bars and structural sections to meet fabrication and construction needs.
Key features
- Structural grade with a minimum specified yield strength of 355 MPa (for thicknesses ≤ 16 mm) suitable for welded and bolted structures.
- “W” designation indicates improved atmospheric corrosion resistance (weathering/corten behavior).
- Available impact quality classes: J0, J2 (different specified impact energy values; choose per project requirements).
- Common supply thickness range: 3 – 150 mm.
- Typical widths: 1,220 – 4,200 mm; typical lengths: 5,000 – 18,000 mm. Custom sizes available on request.
- Non-destructive testing (e.g., ultrasonic) and mechanical/chemical testing can be provided to EN 10025-5 or purchaser specifications. Mill Test Certificates (MTC) and other documentation available on request.
Typical applications
- Building facades, cladding and architectural features
- Bridges, outdoor structures and infrastructure
- Containers, silos and industrial equipment exposed to atmosphere
- General structural components requiring enhanced corrosion performance
Supply and ordering
Plates are supplied to EN 10025-5 specification and can be delivered in standard or project-customized lengths, widths and thicknesses.
