High-strength carbon steel plate engineered for pressure-vessel and boiler fabrication in moderate- and lower-temperature service. Supplied to the ASTM A516 specification, Grade 65 offers a balance of toughness, weldability and resistance to brittle fracture for welded pressure vessels, storage tanks and similar welded fabrications.

Key features

  • Conforms to ASTM A516 standard for pressure vessel plate
  • Grade options available: A516 Grade 55, Grade 65, Grade 70
  • Good low-temperature impact resistance and controlled toughness
  • Low carbon, micro-alloyed chemical makeup for improved weldability and reduced hydrogen cracking risk
  • Good fatigue resistance and anti-cracking performance
  • Tight dimensional tolerances and commercially prepared surfaces suitable for fabrication and welding

Typical supply dimensions and commercial terms

  • Thickness: up to 260 mm (available thicknesses depending on grade and stock)
  • Width: 1000 mm to 4000 mm
  • Length: 1000 mm to 18,000 mm
  • Minimum order quantity: 5 pieces
  • Stock availability: on-hand and ready for prompt shipment; production lead time typically 10–40 days when out of stock
