The Carmelitano distillery and wineries of Benicasim have long enjoyed a solid tradition and great roots in our Community. Its muscat wine, liqueurs and distillates have traditionally been highly appreciated by local consumers, and the Carmelitano brand has expanded into other geographies thanks to the tourists who visit us every year. Five years ago, Carmelitano decided to make the leap to premium drinks - mainly gin and vodka - assuming an indispensable condition: that the quality of its new products be kept at the top, obliged by its tradition of two hundred years manufacturing liqueurs using refined formulas and unique technical means - such as a copper still of the eighteenth century - to obtain products of unparalleled quality.Thus emerged 119 Gin, a gin with certification of the type "London Dry" (double distillate without additives after distillate), using mainly botanicals from the area of the Desert of Las Palmas that give it unique aromatic and flavor characteristics. This has been recognized by successive juries of the annual san francisco contest since its first appearance in 2016 and the achievement of its first silver. This spirits competition is the real world championship in this field, and it is attended by more than 3,000 brands of beverages of various types. The medals obtained by 119 Gin can be seen in the exhibition inside the Carmelitano wineries, where their new premium drinks are proudly displayed next to their most traditional products.
