In the heart of the Sierra de Gredos is the paradise of the Garnacha grape, and within that paradise is the Nietos de Sra. María Winery.We are a young winery created by 4 first cousins located in the Region of Gredos in the Alto Aberche area, an area that is currently fashionable and that is trying to recover for the excellent quality and antiquity of its vineyards. We currently work a vineyard area of about 20 hectares in which we cultivate in a natural and ecological way red Grenache grapes with vines older than 50 years... The altitude at which our vineyards of between 750 and 1150m are located, its privileged environment in the Heart of the Sierra de Gredos and its antiquity ensure us very particular and expressive wines that do not leave anyone indifferent.We currently work closely with the renowned winemaker Daniel Ramos and have just received our first international recognition in the 2019 Garnachas del Mundo contest for our Avaviento 2017 wine (silver medal). We seek the elaboration of wines in the most honest way, with the minimum possible intervention to try to transport nature to the glass.Our current lines of wines are four:- Avaviento Joven is a balanced young wine, with excellent fruity expression, fresh and very easy to drink.- Avaviento Oaked is our first aged in French oak barrels of first use. All the expression of the fruit of Avaviento with a touch of roasted and all the characteristic aromas of the area.- Avaviento Amphorae is a wine made in clay jars in the traditional style of our ancestors. A wine with a marked sentimental nuance that constitutes a fresh wine, with integrated acidity and excellent fruity expression... A very particular and characteristic wine of the area.- Wines of estate / place. Special wines that we keep expressing themselves under a suitable environment so that the final result reflects the wonderful where they come from... Among them Goyo 2017 that, still in the development phase, already points out everything that will be... A great "wine of height".And this is just the beginning...
